Exchange of German-Vietnamese biotechnology experiences

On January 14, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research hosted the German-Vietnamese Biotechnology Workshop in Hanoi.

Application of biotechnology to grow vegetables without soil and chemical fertilizers.

This scientific seminar attracted the participation of leading scientists from the Institute of Biotechnology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), leading universities and research institutes as well as some representatives. Small and medium enterprises of Vietnam and Germany.

With the theme "Application of biotechnology in agriculture, health and environmental protection" , this workshop was held for 4 days. The scientists will present the research results covering many aspects from plasma technology, biological sensors applied in wastewater treatment, technology to clean up the techniques of growing medicinal plants .

Besides the workshop, the Vietnamese side also organized a program to visit laboratories for German partners to introduce the current state of technology and research in Vietnam.

Scientists hope that this workshop will be an opportunity for the two countries' scientists to exchange experiences as well as to find a way to cooperate to make biotechnology better for life.
