Vietnamese girl 'looks' for the German Green Talent award

On November 8, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) awarded 25 young scientists with outstanding research on sustainable development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Wilfried Kraus, Deputy Director of the Department of Sustainable, Climate and Energy Development under the Ministry of Education and Research, stressed the importance of new ideas in dealing with the challenges of world.

He also affirmed the importance of the Green Talent Program for international scientific collaboration in the future.

Le Ngoc Lieu's doctoral project focuses on refining biofuels from straw and waste materials. She believes that energy is the most critical solution regarding the growing global population problem and renewable energy is the best way for this problem.

Le Ngoc Lieu's work has created a real regeneration solution for the energy needs of the world. She affirmed that the most important benefit of renewable energy sources is reducing environmental pollution. Liquid fuels, biofuels, which are made from renewable biomass, are becoming increasingly a fuel source for transportation in the future.

The jury appreciated Le Ngoc Lieu's work, especially emphasizing the importance of biofuels as an alternative fuel for fossil fuels as well as her focus on technology development. Energy saving to purify and refine biomass materials.

The Organizing Committee of the German Green Talent Competition 2013 received 430 entries from 80 countries around the world. 25 honorable scientists will visit leading facilities for sustainable research in Germany, have access to the latest technologies and exchange ideas with leading German experts.
