Meeting between generations of scientists

PhD student Le Minh Khoi at Rostock University, Germany is the only Vietnamese national to attend the meeting with Nobel laureates and young scientists in the world held in Lindau, Germany, from the day. 1 to 6-7-2007.

This reunion was an annual event when it started 56 years ago with a philosophy: today's minds meet and spread fire to the minds of tomorrow.

To be attended, young scientists must go through a selection process of more than 5 months, must be introduced by an Academic Ambassador (usually a reputable scientist). The selection committee is based on academic achievement, scientific research, teaching; plans for the future . of candidates for admission.

In this 57th meeting, over 20,000 people were introduced to review; Finally, 560 young scientists from 62 different countries were selected. 18 scientists who won the Nobel Prize from 1978 - 2006, mainly in the fields of Medicine and Chemistry, participated in lecturing, discussing round tables, exchanging with young researchers.

The issues of exchange not only in the depth of the field, but also on the difficulties of life as science, the attitude of scientists with the current global urgent issues such as: global warming, energy issues, disparities in scientific research between developing countries and developed countries .
