Meteors just fly near the earth

A meteorite more than 18 meters wide flies near the earth today, American astronomers announced.

Space quoted scientists from the US Aeronautics Agency as saying the name of the asteroid is 2012 DS32 . It flew near the earth at 7:36 am this morning in Hanoi.

2012 DS32 has a width of about 18.5m. The shortest distance between it and the planet in the process of moving is 717,767km - almost twice the distance between the earth and the moon.

This is the second meteorite flying near the globe in 2012. On January 27, a meteor with a width of about 11m flew 59,044km from the earth - equivalent to 0.17 times the distance between the moon and the globe.

NASA scientists regularly monitor objects near the earth to be able to act in time if an object is capable of causing a disaster. They argue that meteorites with a width of 140 meters or more can cause destruction near their fall, but only larger meteorites can cause a global disaster.
