Millennial will be the first generation to have a worse age than parents
Millennial - or Y generation - the name given to people born in the period 1982 - 2000 is experiencing many unnamed pressures in life . And so, it is more likely that their health status will be worse when they are the same age as their parents.
Is a generation that marks the transition, so millennials often become the focus of attention. This is an advantage, but also a great disadvantage. According to many opinions, this generation is often considered lazy and rarely tries, rarely buy houses, and the ability to make money has many obstacles.
Confident and active, but Y generation also faces many difficulties.
How wrong, we don't discuss. Just knowing that according to a recent study from the British Health Organization, millennials will be the first generation to have more health problems than their parents in middle age.
Specifically, the study is based on employment status, relationships and assets affecting young people in the age of 20-30. The results show that the general trend here is the risk of developing cancer. Mail, diabetes, obesity or heart disease for young people in middle-aged years will be much higher.
Overall, this trend is related to a number of problems young people are suffering from, including "stress, anxiety, long-term depression, or low quality of life". This is also the first generation to earn less than their parents at the same age.
Y generation many married, have babies, but under pressure.
"Young people today face more pressure than the previous generation," said Jo Bibby, strategic director of the British Health Organization.
The pressures they are experiencing include unstable jobs, unclear labor contracts, underperforming jobs, and unusual economic conditions. In addition, the impact of social networks also contributes to making the situation worse. It creates pressure to keep virtual relationships, rather than real social contact.
To get this result, the experts conducted surveys on 2000 people, from 22 to 26 years old. Of which 31% said they had good social relations, 46% had strong family support financially, and 49% were spiritually supported. But up to 80% said they felt heavy pressure for social networks.
The lonely millennial will be 2 times more likely to suffer from psychological illness than normal.
In early 2018, a study from Kings College London showed that lonely millennial had twice the risk of psychological illness (including depression) than ordinary people. More seriously, they are also more likely to fall into loneliness than the previous generations.
"The uncertainty that the younger generation is facing can have a big impact on their health later" - Bibby said frankly.
Michael Marmot, professor of epidemiology at University College London, agrees."I also think they will cause many more problems in the future, not just psychological diseases" - he added.
