Parents are arbitrary, they are easy to become conservatives

If children are forced to obey adults in any situation, they will tend to support conservative views when they reach adulthood.

R. Chris Fraley, a researcher at the University of Illinois in the US, and colleagues analyzed data from 708 children in the United States. These children were the subject of research by an American Institute of Child Health and Child Development, Livescience reported.

Her father's domineering way of teaching will make the child a conservative when he is older.

Based on the answers of the father and mother of the children, the expert group classified the parents into two groups: arbitrary and balanced. The "domineering" group consists of fathers and mothers who want their children to obey in all cases. In contrast, the "balanced" group accepts the fact that children are not obedient in certain circumstances.

The team also considered the mother's assessment of the temperament of the children when they were 4 1/2 years old.

The results show that the children of "domineering" parents tend to support conservative views (for example, not accepting gay marriage, opposing abortion) when they enter the 18. In contrast, the majority of the "balanced" father and mother children have a liberal, open-minded view when they reach the same age.

In addition, the more they fear their parents, the more likely they are to worship conservative views. Children who are hyperactive or highly focused tend to pursue an open mind.

"Our findings show that father and mother's nurturing and education style will impact each individual's thinking on social issues," Fraley commented.
