Monkeys have a deadly heart attack

More than a dozen monkeys were found lying dead in an Indian forest suspected of collective heart attack due to being threatened with fear.

Local people found 12 monkeys when clearing land in a forest in the Kotwali Mohammadi region of Uttar Pradesh state in northern India, Times of India reported on September 5. At first they were surprised by the collective death of monkeys.

Suspecting that the monkeys were poisoned, the authorities organized a body examination and found that all monkeys were suffering from a heart attack at the same time . Veterinarians are invited to find out the cause of their death. "The post-examination report confirmed monkeys died of cardiac arrest , " said veterinarian Sanjeev Kumar.

Authorities concluded that monkeys could die when they heard the roar of tigers by tigers who frequently traveled to the area. The villagers reported on the tiger that appeared very well in the area and heard a growl at the time the monkeys died.

However, the above conclusions face criticism of wildlife experts."Monkeys are wild animals and they don't die this way. All monkeys can get a contagious disease that causes them to die , " said veterinarian Brijendra Singh.
