Mushroom is higher than 10m

Chinese biologists discovered giant mushrooms with a height of more than 10m and a volume of up to half a ton in Hainan Province.

'We found a giant mushroom in Hainan Province in 2010. Hiding beneath a large tree, it had a large amount of wood for food. The abundance of food helps it to be big, 'the BBC quoted Professor Yu Cheng Dai, a biologist of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

It is a fungus Fomitiporia ellipsoidea with a height of 10.85m, width of 80-82m, thickness from 46 to 55mm.

The results of the mushroom density test showed that its mass was between 400 and 500 kg. It is large enough to hold about 450 million spores.

The numbers on the record break of a Rigidoporus ulmarius in the Kew garden in England. This mushroom has a width of 1.5m and a circumference of 4.25m.

Scientists identify the giant mushroom in China that has existed for at least 20 years.
