My father and father survived miraculously after being struck by lightning

When he set out to camp in the forest on September 3, Mr. Christopher Lovera and two children in California and the United States could not expect them to be hit by lightning.

Sitting near Lake Jennie fishing near Sequoia National Park in central California, USA, Chris Lovera and his son and daughter are trapped in a big storm. The dark clouds came, the rain poured and the sound of thunder spread on the lake surface. The father and son rushed to the shore, sat down under a tree without knowing that only a few minutes later a lightning bolt would hit where they were sitting, the Washington Post reported.

On the other side of the lake, a group of young campers were packing up their rain gear. A phone user returns to the storm. Suddenly, a loud explosion rang out. The whole scene of lightning struck down the trunk of the tree where Lovera's father was staying in the rain was fully collected.

"Lightning hit that person. It hit a person," shouted a man from the camp group. "They fell into the lake then."

"We have to save them right away."

At that time, Chris Lovera with 12-year-old son Aidan and 9-year-old Nadia daughter lay unconscious.

"The lightning hit the tree that my father and I were leaning against . Our backs were all covered in lightning. We were hit by lightning at the head behind the ears, the electric current running through our father's body. son, then when the lightning hits the ground, a loud explosion sounds , " Chris recounted on social networking site Facebook.

"I am very proud of the two children. Despite severe burns, perforation of the eardrum and heavy bleeding, they still struggle to safety in a semi-dreamy state," Lovera wrote. "Aidan's screaming screams made me woke up. At that time, completely disoriented, I just remembered seeing blood on his left ear, then looking at my body I saw blood and burns. I I was terrified to see Nadia lying face down not far away, and her father and father were all in panic. His clothes were torn, his body was paralyzed, I could not move and kept lying there. "

Chris and his son and daughter went fishing on September 3 on the occasion of the Labor holiday. The father recalled that before the accident, the two children were hooking grasshoppers into the hook, his fishing side. Unexpectedly, a big thunderstorm came, and all four of them rushed out of the fishing rod and climbed to the shore, sitting down under a tree.

Aidan boy sits nestled on the left of Chris's brother and little Nadia sits on his father's lap. My father and I were happy to use the phone to return to the scene of three people sitting in the rain.

"I don't want to go out there , " Aidan said in the video and pointed out the direction of the vast lake. "Even if it's fishing at this time".

After that, Mr. Chris turned his phone and turned his father to giggle.

"What are these faces?" , Chris just turned and teased the two children amid the thunder. "This is not the face of happy campers or travelers."

After filming, Chris put the phone in his breast pocket. At that moment, lightning struck.

"Exactly at that time, we were struck by lightning," Chris answered by phone interview. "All three of you are unconscious, each person has a place".

Nadia woke up first and tried to lift her body with her hand because her legs were completely paralyzed. Stumbling, the girl fell face down and hit her head on a stone.

After that, Aidan regained consciousness. The boy remembers the first thing he saw when he was lying on the ground, his clothes tattered to reveal the scorched skin behind his back.

"I think my father was dead and I shouted to my father. I didn't see my father breathing or moving , " Aidan interviewed CBS San Francisco.

Although Chris didn't remember what happened, his two children recounted that it was when he was half awake and told the children to go to a safe shelter.

According to the US National Weather Bureau data, the probability of a person being struck by lightning once in a lifetime is 1 / 13,000 and about 10% of the victims are unfortunately killed by lightning.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 35 people die in lightning every year in the United States.

The photo posted on Facebook showed that Chris had a big burn running from his shoulder to his right arm. Doctors said he suffered first and second degree burns, and at the same time, the 51-year-old father was temporarily paralyzed after the accident.

Meanwhile, Aidan and Nadia suffered minor burns with open wounds focused mainly on the legs. Both father and son suffered from eardrum perforation.

Since Nadia is sitting on the lap when lightning strikes, her wound is lightest. Chris said his daughter had completely recovered, and he and his son Aidan still lost hearing.

Writing on Facebook, a marine biologist says he and his children can preserve their lives thanks to " the courage to discharge themselves from wonderful people".

The group of campers on the other side of the lake quickly rushed to help their father and son. They teamed up to carry him and their two children to safety and at the same time, encouraged the three until the rescue helicopter arrived.

"One thing will always follow me when we are out there, in extremely desperate situations, there are wonderful people willing to rush to us. Without hesitation, they surround me and the others. Children, wholeheartedly protect and help to make sure they are okay, " Chris recalled.

"I am fortunate to meet such people."
