Mysterious skulls appear in Syria

Archaeologists found the skulls crushed from the Stone Age in Syria and they did not understand why they were cut from the body.

Eleven skulls found in Syria date to about 10,000 years. 10 skulls belong to men between the ages of 18 and 30, the other skull belongs to a child, Newscientist said.

The analysis of the Spanish National Research Council showed that the ancients had separated their skulls from corpses a few years after they buried their bodies. Then they buried the skulls in the same place for some purpose. Cracks and cracks appear on the skulls of adults - proof of the life of the person who exerts a strong force on the skull after separating them from the corpse. No cracks or breaks appear on the child's skull.

Archaeologists have discovered mass graves containing skulls in Europe and the Near East. But this is the first time they have found the crumbling skulls, Juan Jose Ibanez, a researcher of the Spanish National Research Council, says that the skulls will help us better understand how treatment of primitive society for the dead.

No one knows exactly what causes the primitive man in the Stone Age to be buried near or just below the residence. Some experts speculate that it was the ancient way of showing respect for the deceased.

'When people start living together in the Stone Age, they need a cohesive community element. Expressing respect for the dead can be a way for them to do it. But acts of violence against the skulls we found in Syria show a completely different story , 'Ibanez said.

Ibanez thinks that Stone Age people consider young people who die early to be a threat to the living. So they separated the skulls of those people from the corpse and smashed the skull with stones to prevent the dead from reviving.
