NASA cooperates with Virgin Galactic

US Space Agency NASA has signed a cooperation agreement in the field of manned flights with British Virgin Galactic, the only private company in the world to bring manned spacecraft into space.

The two agencies also plan to cooperate in the design of new insulation panels and hybrid propulsion systems for missiles, as well as new supersonic aircraft for intercontinental flights at speeds from Mach 5. above.

Virgin Galactic has invested in the Space Ship One, the only private space plane that has carried passengers across the space boundaries. The first flight on June 21, 2004 allowed pilot Mike Melville to reach a height of 100,095km.

Then on October 4, 2004, on the 47th anniversary of the Spoutnik launch, the aircraft reached 112 km, won the Ansari X-Prize and broke the previous record due to the X-15 aircraft held on 22nd. August 8, 1963.

Currently, Space Ship Two is being prepared and will begin a pilot test program later this year from Spaceport America's tourist space port in New-Mexico. The first copy will be named VSS Enterprise.
