NASA just announced the discovery: did we find the 2nd Moon?

The page Tech Insider snatched a very loud headline: "Surprisingly, the Earth has 2 moons." But is that true?

Imagine that the planet Earth is a human being like each of us, and beside that person is a companion - the moon - who has been with Earth for several billion years now. Sometimes being together for so long, it seems like it will make things too familiar to the point of being boring.

Moon.

Just like other normal people, always wanting to find something new and crazy, so is the Earth. Not only Earth, the creatures that live on Earth, people who have observed the Moon for thousands of years, and have at least once set foot on it, want to find themselves somewhere else. .

And it seems like it is about to come true. NASA said the 2016 HO3 celestial body, which is gradually locking itself into "a dance" - a fixed trajectory - with Earth.

The orbit of this celestial body is relatively unusual. It seems that it intends to flirt with the Earth when its orbit changes from 38 to 100 times the distance from our planet to the main moon, and oscillates up and down around the Earth's orbit.

NASA said this object has a diameter of 36m to 91m, much smaller than our main moon. It is possible that it has turned around our world for a century now, and will continue to accompany us for centuries.

TechInsider seems a bit hasty .

The researchers discovered 2016 HO3 on April 27 when the telescope was located in Haleakala, Hawaii was surveying Pan-STARRS object 1.

However, if the Earth or those living on it were prepared to be happy for the second Moon, that joy would not last long. In fact, 2016 HO3 is just the most accurate example of "hearing" , because while its precise orbit is orbiting the Sun, getting close to the Earth is just like a leap of celestial bodies. This is under the influence of gravity from our planet.

So, NASA concluded it was just a satellite satellite.

Trajectory of 2016 HO3.

And 2016 HO3 is not the only case that ever did that to our Earth. 2016 HO3 or like many other objects that we once thought it was the second Moon of the Earth, were actually satellite simulators. These objects also orbit the Sun like the Earth, but the trajectory shape is a bit more complicated.

Thus, perhaps after a few thousand years, the Earth still has only one Moon.
