New success in treating infertility in men

Men without sperm, will now be able to have children thanks to new technology. Center for embryo technology, Military Medical Academy has just succeeded in studying sperm culture technology from sperm to treat male infertility . This is the only center in the country that successfully cultivates sperm differentiated into sperm.

Over the past five years, scientists from the Embryo Technology Center have invested in studying sperm cells in spermless men. The embryo technology center has been and will bring happiness to about 30 couples who no longer hope to have children.

Luu Ngoc Mai is the first child born thanks to the method of growing sperm into sperm until now has been more than eighteen months. I was born completely healthy, intelligent and an endless joy of the whole family.

Dr. Quan Hoang Lam, the director of the center, said that the less fortunate men, after doing tests to determine that no sperm will be sampled, contain sperm tubes from testicles, isolate cells. The sperm, ie cells before being transformed into sperm, do not have a tail which makes natural conception impossible.

The sperm will be cultured, differentiated into sperm. Only the cultured sperm has a very short tail and cannot move on its own. So after the sperm is cultured into sperm, the doctors give artificial insemination, inject it directly into the egg cell that was taken from the wife. Embryos will be cultured for three days and then transferred to the womb of the wife.

According to studies, the rate of male infertility is caused by vasectomy occlusion, disorder of spermatozoa . Patients may have a history of mumps or early adulthood. Complications of testicular atrophy have caused their sperm reproductive function to be destroyed. In addition, male infertility also has a number of causes from the influence of a pregnant mother on infection, mumps, rubella.

Cost for each in-vitro fertilization with cultured sperm from sperm is about 30-40 million VND. Patients who must meet three new criteria can be accepted for treatment with sperm culture techniques: spermatogenesis to the stage of sperm formation, good health, not suffering from genetic or infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis B .), being examined, diagnosed, tested and given drug to stimulate sperm from three to 18 months.

With this success, soon, scientists from this center will also conduct a more advanced technique. It is cell culture right from the early stages because until the sperm becomes cells, it has to go through five stages.
