Non-fuel water pump 'made in' Vietnam

The self-inflating pump can push the water up to 5-20 m without the need for fuel, hoping to serve water needs and produce for the people.

Water pump does not need fuel

Mr. Kim Duy is a lecturer at Bac Kan Community College. Mr. Duy's idea of producing fuel-free water pumps stemmed from concerns about the lack of water to serve the needs of daily life and production in dry conditions . He and his team studied foreign hydraulic pump materials and technology, and then improved and developed the self-priming pump for three months.

According to the mechanism of operation, the flow from the river, stream or reservoir is led into the tube, into the pump, the first one-way valves block, creating a sudden pressure to open the second valve at the bottom Pressure vessel. The second valve opens, introduces water into the pressure vessel, squeezes the air in the flask to the top and compresses it. Critical compressed air pushes the water down to the bottom of the tank, part of the volume flowing through the duct (attached to the bottom of the tank). This process is repeated, pushing the water from the duct to the upper tank. After two hours of testing in Na Giao village, Yen Duong commune, Ba Be district, the pump brought more than one cubic meter of water to the foot of the field at a height of over 7m.

Duy said the invention can pump water up to 5-20 m high without any fuel . Self-inflating pumps are made of plastic, zinc, iron and recycled materials, thus saving costs. To complete the test pump, Mr. Duy used the materials available and bought the valve for 500,000 VND.

Self-priming pumps are easy to install, durable and do not affect the environment . Duy's research team is continuing to improve the pump to bring the water up.
