Obtain solar energy in the direction of the sun

In order to dramatically increase the power output from the solar panels, it must be kept in optimum condition for obtaining sunlight. The QBotix system solved this problem with the robot running around to rotate the power panel.

Qbotix consists of a rail system arranged around the columns on which the photovoltaic panel is located. A robot - called Solbot - runs on the rails and adjusts the panels for a period of 40 minutes to ensure optimum performance.

Basically, Solbot is designed with engine and tool kit to run to each solar panel. It senses the direction of sunlight to adjust the optical pointer to the optimum position.

According to Gizmag, Solbot is designed to be dusty and waterproof. The dual axis tracking system behind the solar panel is vertical and horizontal. Compared with fixed mount solar systems, it produces over 40% efficiency.
