Open the computer by glancing

Oleg Komogortsev, a Texas-based San Marco computer expert, is working to create a system that can identify people through how they manipulate their eyes when looking at a computer screen.

Oleg's new work is undergoing the first stages and will take longer to apply at the airport, where safety is required, or even at home.

Previously, scientists have demonstrated that iris scanners can be fooled by using a pair of glasses or using high-quality imaging eyepieces placed in front of the scanner's screen. Komogortsev hopes with the motion sensor of the eye, this condition can be prevented.

Komogortsev's system will record eye movements and analyze two characteristics: the time a person looks at a point on the screen; And the movement of the eye as it moves around the points on the screen.

Based on these movements, the system will calculate the specific features of the human eye, including the force that the eye muscles use, or the characteristics of openness and texture around the eyes and around the eyeball.
