OrCam Visually Impaired Camera

The OrCam system, developed by OrCam Technology, is considered to be the "third eye" of the less fortunate, because it will help the owner see the surrounding environment.

Prior to this, there were a number of devices and software that assisted people with reduced vision in the move. But the OrCam system is designed with more processing mechanisms. Specifically, OrCam consists of a pocket PC connected to a small camera mounted on the glass. When used, the wearer only needs to point the finger at the point where they need to "see clearly" beforehand, the system immediately reads information about what they want. In this way, OrCam can help employers read text, identify faces, objects, places, bus numbers and even traffic lights.

In addition, because the OrCam system incorporates headphones on the rim, users do not need extra headphones. The audio converter also filters out background noise, allowing the user to hear the information even in noisy environments.

Experts say OrCam is most effective in normal lighting conditions and supports flash in the dark. Orcam is scheduled to launch in the US in September.
