Giant 9m-long pythons like to attack men in the village because they are only 1.4m tall.

When Thomas Headland accidentally caught one of the longest pythons in the world, he was on his way to . the toilet. At this time, Thomas was living in the Philippine rainforest and the Agta tribe and he accidentally saw a giant python lying on the ground.

The third longest python is recorded.

"I straightened my hair and shouted for help," Thomas recalled. Thomas cried bitterly and 6.7 Agta were on the verge of releasing but they laughed. Turns out, it was just the skin of a huge python that had been killed long ago. Luckily for Thomas, his first meeting with the giant python did not end with a painful death.

While working in Agta village, Thomas realized a horrifying truth: 25% of men in this village were attacked by giant pythons. Meanwhile, very few women are subject to this reptile.

Thomas and his wife first arrived in the Philippines in 1962 just after the wedding three weeks earlier in the state of Minnesota, USA. They lived with the Agta for 24 years and later returned to the United States, each year they returned to the Philippines once."I live in the rainforest longer than any scientist. I have seen things that only exist on Tarzan movies."

The village of the Agta is very solid and especially the giant pythons."Up to three or four times, a python rushes into my house and catches chickens. Once, a man who saw his dog was killed by huge pythons. He used a machete to cut off a couple of people. My wife used to kill one and so did I, " Thomas recalls.

Thomas said the biggest python he saw was 7 meters long and was shot by a neighbor named Kekek Aduanan. This is also the third largest python in Agta village.Python is the longest reptile in the world. The female weighs about 75kg and is 7 meters long. Males can weigh 100kg and are 9 meters long. The Agta is a small race with an average stature of 1.4 meters and weighs only 44kg. The python mesh can kill a wild boar so the Agta are just a "mouthful" bait .

In 1976, Thomas began an official interview with the Agta about huge python encounters. The entire population of Agta was about 600 people and Thomas interviewed 120 people. He asked carefully, compared information and collated various sources to get the most accurate results.

Thomas's research records memories for about 70 years, showing that 26% of the population of Agta village has been attacked by pythons, while only 2% of women here suffer similar scenes. Two men with python attack twice, 15 people were bitten and 11 people suffered serious scars on people. According to Thomas, it is because of men or forests that they become targets for giant pythons.

For the room, most Agta people carry machetes or guns. During 39 years, six Agta were killed by pythons, notably one was swallowed, two children were killed. Without using machete, surely the number of giant python deaths will be huge.

Python is also a source of food for the Agta people.

But the Agta are not completely "innocent" . They are also the biggest "enemy" of the python . All men interviewed said they had killed at least one python in their lives. Typically Kekek Aduanan, who shot and killed the third longest python.
