Planet 'hot as hell', 1 year is as long as 4 days

Add a new planetary solar system "captured" by NASA. This time is a giant planet that has a fiery hell like surface.

A multinational research team analyzed the mysterious planet about 646 light years away based on the initial data TESS obtained.

According to astronomer Matias Jones - from the Southern European Observatory (ESO), one of the co-authors - the newly discovered planet named HD 2685b , is about 1.44 times Jupiter and its mass is equal to about 1.2 times.

The most special thing is that it rotates at an extremely close distance from its parent star, so that each year is only 4.13 days long on Earth. This extremely close trajectory contributes to the terrible temperature on the planet's surface, which can be said as "hellish" as 1,800 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the hottest solar system of the Solar System is Venus with an average surface temperature of 462 degrees Celsius.

Its mother star itself was also a relatively hot star, named HD 2685 or there are two other names, TIC 267263253 and TOI 135 . This is a young star 1.3 billion years old, at 6,530 degrees Celsius.

This strange star system also provides good data for TESS for this planet hunter to learn from observations, searching for planets hidden too close to their parent star.

The team said the detailed report on the discovery will be published in a few days in the scientific journal Astronomy and Astrophysics.

NASA's planetary hunter TESS is a satellite that surveys at least 200,000 brightest stars in the sky to search for planets orbiting them. TESS started its mission from the end of July, after a 3-month journey from Earth and plans to carry out the task for 2 years.
