About 300 American astronomers signed a petition to the International Astronomical Association (IAU), saying they did not agree with the new definition of the planet and did not use this definition.

They argue that Pluto, the ninth planet of the solar system, is deprived of the planet (only considered an asteroid) is a political argument, not a science.
According to them, IAU's new definition of the planet is technically flawed, linguistic and embarrassing. They said they would hold another conference next year to give a more precise definition of the planet. Thus, whether the King of Hell is a planet is not a problem.
