Rare color images of Native Americans in the 19th and 20th centuries
Rare color photographs depicting Native Americans in the late 19th century and early 20th century are genuinely recorded.
Indigenous peoples of the Americas are residents of America before Cristoforo Colombo . They live in North America and South America. Some assimilate and integrate into the common society in the Americas, often referred to as the American Aboriginal name. They live in nomadic tribes, living on hunting and gathering.
Currently, in the US territory, the Indian ethnic group only accounts for about 1%. They live in areas with difficult natural conditions such as high mountains and dry areas in the West.
In preparation for documenting the short film " Moses on the Mesa ", Paul Ratner , American filmmaker embarked on studying old photographs of Indians. The film is about a German - Jewish immigrants fell in love with an Indian ethnic girl and became the Acoma Pueblo tribal chief in New Mexico in the late 1800s.
Initially, Ratner only found black and white pictures and was colored again. The image was taken at the time of the late 19th century and early 20th century. After that, the subject became attractive to Ratner. He decided to put effort into collecting them.
The photo set was shared on social networking sites. Immediately, they received great interest from the online community. Someone has a better understanding of the lives of early Native Americans a hundred years ago.
