Recycle Bin using solar energy

The solar-powered self-compressing bins are being tested for the first time in the UK. With this new technology, each self-compacting bin has the capacity of eight times the normal size of a trash can.

Currently, these solar trash cans are being tested at Green End Road, Cambridge, England, and have brought about initial success.

' Once the garbage is put into the bin at a certain level, the garbage will be chopped and compacted. This increases the capacity of the trash. We are very pleased with the initial success of this test, '' said Bob Carter, managing director of Cambridge City Environmental Company.

Each bin contains a capacity of 800 liters and is used to compress waste water out. The power supply for this compression process is a 12V battery pack powered by solar energy. When the trash is 85% full, the trash sensor on the trash sends a message to the center for environmental sanitation workers to process.

According to the Daily Mail , the new Big Belly Bins recycle bins also help cleaners handle less waste. This reduces the cost as well as the carbon footprint of the garbage collection process.

However, the difficulty of deploying this clever trash system is a matter of funding. Each Big Belly Bins is priced at over £ 3,000, three times more expensive than ordinary bins.
