An international team has announced a new paper that can be printed with light and removed for reuse in the Nano Letters magazine, Engineers Garage reported on Feb. 3.

This paper uses color change properties when exposed to the light of some chemicals. Normal paper after being coated with a thin layer of nano molecules becomes a new type of paper, which can be used to produce ultraviolet light.

In addition, the writing on paper can easily be erased when it is heated to 120 degrees Celsius. Thus, this paper can be recycled more than 80 times . The purpose of this product is to reduce the negative economic and environmental impacts of paper production.

"The most important thing in our research is to create a new kind of paper that looks and feels like normal paper, but they can be printed and erased repeatedly without the need for more ink. It brings great economic and environmental value to modern society, " said Yandong Yin, a research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley.
