The paper can be rewritten several times

US scientists have successfully produced paper that can be erased and rewritten more than 20 times before being thrown away, solving the problem of human waste.

According to the IB Times, the special paper is produced by a team of experts from the University of California Riverside. The material that makes up the paper is a glass or plastic film, with redox dye acting as a "writing ink".

Paper has basic colors such as red and blue. Colors are created using redox dye (methylene blue, neutral red, acid green). Crystal dyes play a role as catalysts and hydrogen peroxide (HCE).

When they wanted to print the text, the researchers placed the text on a plastic film, using ultraviolet light that made the dye invisible, except for the text to be printed. The writing is removed by heating the paper to a temperature of 115 ° C. At this point, the dye from the colorless state becomes colorless as it was initially, in less than 10 minutes.

"Print characters are always clear in high resolution over a period of time that is long enough for real-world applications such as reading." This paper is simple and easy to do, with low production costs. is toxic and does not consume much energy , " said Yadong Yin, a research group member.

Scientists are continuing to develop this technology to extend the printing cycle and erase about 100 times, while extending the reading time to expand the application potential.
