Renal dialysis device automatically saves nearly 700 billion VND / year
This is the product of the topic 'Research and manufacture of automatic filtrate equipment for artificial dialysis machines'. The product is chaired by Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, from January 1, 2012.
Low cost, high efficiency
According to data from the Ministry of Health, there are currently about 10,000 patients regularly needing to treat kidney failure by hemodialysis with the average frequency of 3 times / week (equivalent to 30,000 cases / week). In each treatment case, on average, each patient must use about 10 liters of filtrate.
Therefore, each week medical facilities must use about 300,000 liters of different filtrates. Currently, most of this filter must be imported in the form of pre-mixed with an average price of 15,000 VND / liter.
Therefore, the total expenditure for importing filtrate each week is about 4.5 billion VND (if importing the powder and conducting the translation on site, it also costs 10,000 VND / liter). Facing the above situation, some domestic health facilities have implemented on-site translation by manual method to reduce costs because there are no automatic devices for mixing.
Dr. Hai said, if using the automatic filter phase of the project, it could save VND 5,000 / liter. So every year the health sector can save about 700 billion VND for the import of filtrate.
'At present, there are almost no facilities to produce automatic filtrate equipment in the domestic market, while the import of expensive equipment is not suitable, so it has not been applied much. Therefore, the product of the project will overcome the above disadvantages, so it is very suitable to the conditions of Vietnam, ' said the chairman of the project.
Replace imported equipment
Dr. Hai said, the successful fabrication of a high-capacity automatic filtration solution can provide direct simultaneous treatment for many hemodialysis systems with different phase modes, suitable for many systems. Dialysis is being used at medical facilities.
It is known that the research, manufacture, deployment and testing of equipment successfully is one of the important stages in the research and mastering process in the field of artificial kidneys. This is an area that not only makes the health sector and other related sectors 'headaches' because the cost of treatment is too great.
Moreover, the research product will contribute to the domestic medical device production research program in the 2011-2015 period, which is directed by the Government. In addition, if the product is applied with tea belts at medical facilities, it will reduce the cost of importing and storing the filtrate, thereby reducing the cost of treatment for patients.
Currently, the health and insurance industry only responds to about 10% of patients with end-stage renal failure. If the implementation of automatic filtrate is well implemented, it is possible to save more than 30% of the cost of the filtrate, thereby increasing the rate of treated renal failure patients. In addition, the research of mastering equipment manufacturing technology will contribute to higher level training in the field of biomedical electronics and high-tech medical equipment.
'Currently the research contents have been completed in accordance with the registration notes. The device has been fully assembled and has been tested in the laboratory. With the research results achieved, the research team hopes to continue receiving the State's investment to develop the topic, proceeding to deploy the application into practice , 'said Dr. Hai.
