Reveal human food to Mars
A group of American experts spent four months living in a small dome-shaped hut on a bare lava field in Hawaii trying to find out what kind of food is suitable for astronauts to carry out their mission. Fire.

The six-member team always wore astronauts' attire whenever they ventured onto the northern flank of Mauna Loa - the volcano still active in Hawaii and the most recent eruption in 1984. Their activities belong to a space exploration simulation project in Hawaii (HI-SEAS) of the US Aerospace Agency (NASA), worth $ 1 million.
The project is funded by NASA's Human Research Program, the University of Hawaii and Cornell University, exploring life and how to prepare food for long-term missions in space.

In other projects, the team cooked dishes including dried, frozen food with the food available at the time. According to Angelo Vermeulen, the lead researcher, the problem with non-rotten materials is that they are often over-processed and lacking in fiber.
However, Mr. Vermeulen was impressed that the dry, frozen food still tastes almost like fresh food. This expert added that it is also important for future space exploration crews to be delicious food.

In the recipe that Vermeulen's group has just discovered and published, their favorite food is nutella, made from two main ingredients, cocoa and chestnut. There are also pastries; Popular canned ham in Hawaii; rice mixed with meat, fish and spicy Cajun sausage as well as fried noodles. Wheat flour cooked with North African meat or gravy is also the team's choice when they are almost out of food ingredients.
According to NASA, more long-term exploration of space in the future, including missions to Mars in the 2030s, creates new challenges in providing food for year-long trips. .
One of the challenges for the mission to explore Mars is to provide enough food for the crew during a long trip, maybe up to 5 years.(Photo: Daily Mail)
"We need to calculate the amount of food for a mission on the surface of Mars, including how much processed food and how many bio-regenerated foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables grown on food , " Michele Perchonok, a scientist at NASA's Advanced Food Technology Project, stressed.
In a mission to explore Mars, astronauts can grow their own food as well as bring unprocessed ingredients to make a noodles, tofu, bread and pasta. Even so, the food needs to last up to 5 years and is large enough to not cause boredom for the crew.
