Robot Spirit: First birthday on Mars

Picture 1 of Robot Spirit: First birthday on Mars This week, Robot Spirit celebrates a year round on Mars, equivalent to 2 years of Earth.

When Spirit landed at Gusev's crater, we felt like the final destination - the Columbia Hills hill range was too far away and too far away to make its discoveries. However, with 1 year on Mars, this robot has finally climbed to its destination. It reached the top of Husband Hill, which was on top of it like the Statue of Liberty of America.

After collecting a lot of images of Mars, Spirit started moving down the Columbia Hills

Another robot, called Opportunity, is considered Spirit's twin robot, and has made many of its discoveries on Mars. After being bogged down in August, the robot continued toward the Erebus crater. The first birthday of this robot will take place on 12/12

Spirit and Opportunity's exploration program is renewed many times and will continue until September 2006.
