Spirit round 1,000 days on Mars
Spirit exploration robots have just celebrated 1,000 days on Mars. This ' achievement ' is praiseworthy because at first, scientists at the US Aerospace Agency (NASA) only hope Spirit can work for . 3 months.
Present on the red planet on January 4, 2004, Spirit, along with later Opportunity robot, provided compelling evidence that there was water on the Martian surface through 165,000 clear images transmitted.
Scientists say the lifespan of a long-lasting robot like Spirit is surprising. During the mission, Spirit went a total of 6.8 km on Mars. The robot is currently parked on Victoria's mouth, a giant concave, where scientists are planning to let Spirit down to explore below.
