This is a new dinosaur or a wolf weasel, scientists are still debating the newly discovered fossil in Russia.

A strange ancient creature has been found in a diamond mine in Udachny, the Mirninsky district of Yakutia, also known as the Sakha Republic of Russia. The diamond miners unearthed the fossil and believed it to be a mummified monster, possibly a new dinosaur that had never been discovered.

Fossils of "prehistoric monsters" have been found in Russia.

Experts are not sure and want to study this species more closely. One theory is that this is a wolverine weasel (the English name is wolverine) , a meat-eating mammal like a small bear.

However, up to now, no one is sure what animal it is.

Its fossil will be taken to the capital Yakutsk, 1686km southeast of the excavation area.

It was found in the sand of an ancient town of the Middle Kingdom, between 252 and 66 million years ago. This town is famous for its large diamond mines, discovered in 1955, and exploited since the 1960s.
