Russia will land on the Moon in 2015
Viktor Khartov, general director of Lavochkin Research and Production Association, said on October 12 that Russia will carry out a mission to land on the Moon with unmanned devices in 2015, news from Interfax news agency. (Russia).
'As planned, we plan to land on the Moon in 2015,' Khartov said.
"The above mission is essential to prove, first of all, that we can land on other space objects ," he stressed.
According to Khartov, the plan includes the launch of the Electro-L No.2 satellite in 2013, and the Spektr-RG X-ray space telescope will be launched in 2014.
After that, Spektr-UF astronomical station will also be launched, Khartov added.
By 2016, this project will continue to launch toward the mission to land on Mars. Lavochkin Association will continue to build the landing system for this second mission of the program (expected to take place in 2018).
The Lavochkin Association will also participate in the ExoMars (Biological Research on Mars) program of the European Space Agency.
