Science explains the true character of a secret person?
People who are overly enthusiastic and polite to you are sometimes not the best people who know how to keep their mouth shut.
We all want other people to respect, trust and be trustworthy. However, to gain that respect, everyone must know how to conquer the trust of others. Choosing someone reliable to share the secret with is not a simple matter. Even this decision needs to be based on many factors, in which personality is the top decision.
To delve deeper into the true character of a person who is able to keep good secrets, scientists at the University. Queensland, the United States has done an interesting study.
Those who are enthusiastic, polite and friendly are not the ones who can keep it a secret.
Scientists at the University. Queensland has conducted a total of 5 different studies with more than 1000 volunteers. The research team is particularly interested in the 4 personality traits that psychologists call social behavior.
The first personality group is compassion and politeness, friendliness (ease) and the second personality group is assertive and enthusiastic (extrovert).
The results were quite surprising when scientists discovered, people who were enthusiastic, polite and friendly were not the ones who could keep it a secret. Instead people who are assertive and compassionate are the best kept secret.
This is an interesting conclusion because most people now think that a polite person is the most reliable person.
When asked about the personality characteristics of a person they are looking to share secrets, volunteers emphasize, they need a polite person. However, when they really have to reveal secrets, they choose people with more compassion and assertiveness.
In fact, we often tell our secrets to those who know how to care, motivate others and be assertive in every job. People who seem to like to talk too much and are too enthusiastic are sometimes less knowledgeable.
And the indispensable factor for a person to be trusted to tell more secrets is to be assertive.
It's best to limit your privacy to those who are too polite or enthusiastic about you.
Dr. James Kirby, one of the study's lead authors, said: "We believe that it is about the situation because trust is something that can be obtained from helping others. Assertive people. "It will help and act even when faced with obstacles. People not only believe in motivated people but also believe in those who can act when necessary."
Of course, you should not rush to trust completely in those who are assertive and compassionate. Everything will need to go through a certain process of contact and understand the part of the person.
Aerial research means that 100% of assertive and compassionate people are good people so you can secretly privacy. Only thing, it's best to limit your privacy to those who are too polite or enthusiastic about you.
The research has been published recently in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.
