Seeing the 'fire ring' around the Sun

According to sky observers' schedules in East Asia and West America until May 20, solar eclipses will block most of the sun's rays creating a spectacular "fire ring" in the sky.

The phenomenon of the upper ring of fire is also known as the solar solar eclipse , which is Latin for 'circle' , visible from various areas in Asia, the Pacific region and some in western North America if weather conditions allow late afternoon or evening from 20-21 May 2012.

Because the moon is near the extreme point - the point that is farthest away from the earth in the orbital elliptical orbit, it cannot cover the entire sun. Therefore, the ring of sunlight is still shining and radiating around the moon's circumference. But at the peak, this solar eclipse will block about 94% of sunlight.

It is known that an eclipse is a phenomenon that occurs when the moon lies between the earth and the sun, creating a dark shadow covering our planet. When the moon rises to coincide with the sun's position, it will erase all sunlight, creating a total solar eclipse.

Observers recommend that people should not look directly at the sun at this time with their naked eyes, telescopes or group tubes without proper filters.
