Shoe sole has the ability to warn mines

A Colombian designer has developed a shoe solver capable of detecting mines and sending dangerous warnings to shoe makers from a distance of two meters.

In Colombia, the decades-long conflict has left a lasting impact on the country. Every year, hundreds of Colombian people die from landmines or other explosive devices.

This has prompted designer Jose Ivan Perez of Bogota to come up with the idea of developing a shoe sole called SaveOneLife . This device is capable of detecting mines and sending dangerous warnings to shoe holders from a distance of 2 meters.

Jose Ivan Perez, Creative Director, Lemur Studios, said: "Basically, our project is to create a sole for ordinary shoes, whether civilians or the military. The idea here is a metal detector with a flat helix made from conductive material, capable of sending signals to the device on the shoe's wrist. These signals will help them to avoid mines, or explosive devices. '

Colombia is one of the most landmine countries in the world, as guerrilla forces often use destructive weapons against the government.

Daniel Avila Camacho, director of the PAICMA action program, said: 'Colombia continues to be one of the most affected countries in the world. Over the past 23 years, more than 10,000 people have been killed by explosive devices used by illegal armed groups. "

Now, Perez's group rushes to perfect their ideas. They hope the product will contribute to the Colombian government's demining efforts and save lives of innocent people.
