Shower room on the universe

5 German students are inventing baths in the universe. Humans have conquered the universe since Gagarin flew into space, yet the bathing on it was still so difficult.

In the early 1970s, Russians built a kind of sack on Mir ships and used it on American Skylab. When bathing, the astronauts crawled into it, tightening the rope so that the water could not fly out and let the water fly in the bag.

The head always peeked out during the shower. To wash, astronauts must use " dry " shampoo. After bathing, do not wipe with a towel, but use a type of vacuum cleaner to dry and wait for the dry skin to get out of the bag. Not to mention, the country must be recycled for use, because on limited freshwater vessels only.

5 students from the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany), aged 22-24, applied the electromagnetic principle to design " special baths " for astronauts.

The bathroom will contain a metal tube with a diameter of 30 cm, containing an electrode bar connected to a generator, a standby machine, a 25 kilovolt voltage.

An electric field is created, driving the water rays in the direction of the person bathing. All contained in a 1.3 m long trunk covered with foam to avoid the risk of rubbing in the cramped condition of the spacecraft.

All five students were invited to the European Aeronautics Agency's (ESA) astronaut selection center in France to test their invention. In the French Airbus plane, at a certain height, the pilot turns off to free fall and in about 30 seconds the gravity will disappear.

During that short period of time, these students had to try to run the machine and draw the rule from the speed of spraying water to the electric field intensity.

The first test cost was covered by Darmstadt University itself, but in March next year, they had to find another sponsor.

ESA pays great attention to their invention, but it is also the pioneers that the " bathroom " as high as 2 m requires a stronger electric field than the current model, to drive the water jet down to the foot. If successful, the " cosmic bath " - their invention was officially announced, could interfere with other techniques or cause insecurity for users themselves.

For months in weight loss conditions, the astronauts' muscles were atrophied, suffering from osteoporosis and they needed to bathe. This invention is rare and very useful!
