Smoke eliminator, deodorant

After the party, the dining room and restroom were filled with smells and smoke. Landlady turned up the lamp. After a while, the air was clean again like never dirty. This situation is now completely real, thanks to the new light bulb of Dr. Nguyen Van Khai.

This type of light bulb is a research collaboration product between Dr. Nguyen Van Khai - Director of the Center for Electricity Saving and Electrochemical Activation Solutions, Hanoi, also known as Ozone - with experts. China, temporarily called the Khai Thong lamp.

The lamp has the function of eliminating smoke, deodorizing and disinfecting, it is suitable for installation in kitchens, toilets or small spaces that often suffer from smoke, stench or toxic.

In principle, this is also a compact fluorescent lamp, but there are other operating mechanisms with conventional compact lamps.

Conventional compact lamps use ballasts to make the electronic current in the light turn 100 times per second (if it is a ferromagnet) or from 200,000 to 400,000 times per second (if it is an electronic ballast). At the same time the bulb contains mercury, so when broken will cause toxic mercury release into the environment.

The Khai Thong bulb (thanks to the improved electronic part) generates electromagnetic fields with a much larger frequency, causing ionization of oxygen gas molecules (O 2 ) around the light bulb. As a result, it produces free oxygen atoms (O) and ozone molecules (O 3 ). It is these two components, due to their strong oxidizing properties, have been deodorized, deodorized in the environment.

In smoke, CO, CO 2 , NO 2 , SO 2 , P 2 O 5 . are often combined, when combined with oxygen and ozone atoms, they form a substance that settles down the lamp body. Therefore, after cleaning the place, people can remove the bulb, wash it with salt water.

In an environment with a lot of bacteria, stinking (such as toilets), the above oxidants will also make the dead bacteria dry out, and clean the room, run out of smell.

This lamp is also more advantageous than the installation of an exhaust fan that can kill bacteria on walls and ceilings, places that are less noticeable. The lamp does not contain mercury, so when it breaks, it does not harm the environment. Asked if these oxidants can be harmful to people, Dr. Khai said the ozone levels that the bulbs produce are always smaller than 0.1 ppm, meeting international standards so that people can stay regular.

The test sprayed smoke into a two-compartment box, on the left was a Khai Thong lamp, and on the right was a compact light.

After a few seconds, the box on the left becomes transparent. The right side is still opaque.

The left side of the box is in the back, and the right side is still cloudy with smoke.

Unlike conventional compact bulbs, Khai Thong lamp has a protective cover for electric parts made of transparent PVC, and has an additional pipe of oxygen atoms and ozone molecules. The base of the lamp base is made of metal to help clean the smoke easily. After a period of use, if the discharge tube gets older, it is possible to replace it with another tube and still use the old (electronic) ballast, or vice versa.

In the immediate future, Dr. Khai said he will focus on producing lamps for schools' toilets. The product is estimated to be twice as expensive as a compact lamp, with a test life of up to 8,000 hours, which will be launched on January 1, 2008.

Dr. Khai used to be the initiator of a school lighting campaign, a green panel, "ozone water" to preserve fruits and now a clean light.
