Solar system has the ability to automatically rotate

James Cameron is currently a film director, NASA adviser and ocean explorer, now he is interested in harnessing solar energy. Inspired by sunflowers, the 'father' of the popular movie Avatar says he is designing a system to capture energy from the sun, with aesthetics and performance higher than what is available.

Sun Flowers solar system

With the shape of giant flowers, the Sun Flowers system is capable of automatically turning towards the sun throughout the day, in order to obtain as much power as possible. With a body more than 10 meters long, this ' flower ' has all 14 'wings ', with a host of other solar panels in the center.

It is known that Cameron 's plan also received support from solar energy company Sonnen, with solar tracking technology. According to Gizmodo, this technology " uses astronomical data to calculate the position of the sun and arrange the panels accordingly" . Sun Flowers has now been tested on the MUSE School campus (USA), with the capacity to produce around 260 kWh per day.

This power is enough to supply 75 to 90% of the school's electricity needs. Since the sun 'flowers' are installed and shaped like umbrellas, they also provide plenty of shade for students to relax underneath.

Despite being a useful idea, director James Cameron said he still had no plans to implement the project on a larger scale, at least for the time being. In addition, he also revealed that he had applied for a patent for his invention , and promised to replicate the system at an appropriate time.
