Son Doong - One of the most spectacular caves in the world

The Huffington Post posted caves that overwhelmed visitors, including Vietnam's Son Doong cave.

Son Doong Cave, Quang Binh, Vietnam

With the main cave section longer than 5 km, some sections of Sơn Đoòng are large enough to accommodate an airplane. The cave has its own climate, with rivers, forests and light in natural sinkholes. This cave is not for those who lack physical strength, as visitors have to go through hard, challenging journeys.

Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Batu cave system will take you into the space formed from 400 million years ago, with the temple at the cave entrance and the giant Murugan statue. Inside, visitors will discover Hindu paintings and statues. You can easily reach here by train from Kuala Lumpur. However, to get into the cave, you have to climb a 272-level bridge.

Benagil Cave, Algarve, Portugal

Tham Lot Cave, Mae Hong Son, Thailand

Tham Lot store is up to 15 m high. Guests can walk here or kayak along the Nam Lang River . You will admire the giant arches, with stalactites and stone flowers. Going deep inside, you'll meet teak coffins dating back more than 2,000 years.

Marble Cave, Patagonia, Chile

After more than 6,000 years, the waves created a breathtaking spectacle in the middle of General Carrera Lake : an ice cave rising above the water, beneath the marble chambers with beautiful curves. Guests can explore this place by boat or kayak when the weather is good.

Hang Reed Flute, Guilin, China

This cave has splendid stalactite columns. People who fled the Japanese army during World War II discovered this place. The cave also has writings and poems dating back to 792 AD.

Hang Cango, Western Cape, South Africa

The stalactite Cleopatra Needle (Cleopatra's needle) in Cango cave was 150,000 years old and almost 9 meters tall. This stunning cave is located under South Africa's Swartberg mountain, with large spiers and arches discovered by humans from prehistoric times. Adventurers can discover Devil's Chimney , a challenging route with many narrow and difficult to navigate sections.

Fingal Cave, Staffa, Scotland

According to legend, Fingal Cave is the last north bridge to Giant's Causeway in Ireland, built by Ireland's Finn McCool to face enemies from Scotland - Benadonner. In fact, the impressive shape of the cave formed by ancient lava flows appeared 60 million years ago. You can only go to the cave by boat, then walk inside. This place is also called the " cave of melody ", due to the mysterious sounds echoing from the waves of waves hitting the rocky shore.

Carlsbad, New Mexico, USA

Nature took 6 million years to create where Will Rogers once described " Grand Canyon with a dome ". More than 100 limestone caves forming Carlsbad spread under Mount Guadalupe in New Mexico.
