Strange radioactive molecules found in space are amazing
For the first time, scientists have discovered a radioactive molecule in space and it comes from an ancient stellar explosion, demonstrating a Nova star capable of producing 26 AlF molecules directly. .

Specifically, in a new investigation, an international research group led by Tomasz Kamiński of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics discovered that there was a two-red fusion in space. This merger produced large amounts of exotic gas and dust.
The team observed that this molecular gas is called 26 AlF, a radioactive isotope of aluminum, in the remnant of nova star, (known as Nova Vul 1670 ).
This is the first time a specific radioactive molecule has been detected in space. This is also the first time they have seen a Nova star capable of producing 26 AlF molecules directly.
By observing 26 AlF, scientists can better understand how these two red nova stars merge.
In addition, the study of the merging process can provide a deeper understanding of the physical layers in red nova stars.
