Strange to sing like birds

Japanese scientists have created a special genetically modified mouse, with the ability to chirp like birds.

>>> Themouse is kind and sympathetic than we think

According to DailyMail , this type of mouse was propagated by the Osaka University team as part of the "Evolutionary Mouse" project, hoping to understand more about the evolution of language.

'Mutations, as we know, are evolutionary driven factors. Therefore, we cross-breed many generations of mice to see what happens , 'explained research leader Arikuni Uchimura.

'We checked every newborn mouse one . and one day, we found a bird capable of singing like a bird,' Uchimura recalled. According to Uchimura, this mouse was born completely by chance, but its 'mutant' ability will be inherited for future mouse generations.

'I was very surprised, because I think genetic crossing will create mice with different physical forms, not singing ability.'

"In addition to song-singing mice, the Evolutionary Mouse project also created a mouse with short limbs and long tail like a mink dog," Uchimura added.

Spread like dialect?

Currently, Osaka University's lab is feeding about 100 'song-singing' mice to further research. The team hopes to be able to find more clues about the evolution of human language, just as international scientists still study to understand the origin of speech.

'Mice are the subject of research superior to birds, because they are mammals and close to people about the brain structure. Biological aspects are also closer , 'explained Uchimura. 'We are watching how a mouse with a new' voice 'will affect other normal mice . ".

Early findings suggest that mice will often produce less sound chit sounds if they grow up with singing mice. This means that modes of communication can spread in the herd like dialects.
