According to Livescience, the results of a survey in the US showed that 83% of participants said winter was the most frightening time for going away. Only 8% believe summer is the most dangerous time. The rates for spring and autumn are 4%.
However, a statistic of the US Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that one-third of traffic accident deaths fall in the summer months - much higher than the rate in the winter.
The rural roads, though deserted, still contain many dangers. Many US censuses show that about 21% of the population lives in rural areas. But a statistic from the US Federal Highway Administration indicates that an average of 57% of road traffic accidents occur every year on rural roads.
Livescience believes that the density of sparse vehicles and poetic landscapes on rural roads can make many drivers subjective while launching vehicles. They can zoom, drive and admire, not fasten. All of these things increase the risk of accidents.
In addition, every time an accident occurs, the victims have to wait a long time before being taken to the medical facility because the ambulance must pass a long distance to the scene. Livescience said, half an hour after the traffic accident, the risk of death of victims in rural areas was 5-7 times higher than that of urban victims.
