Surprisingly, the art of making a mummy of a 5,000-year-old Iceman

Scientists have successfully reconstructed the 3D prototype of a mummy "Otzi gang" died 5,000 years ago with incredible accuracy and authenticity.

The first build will be on display at the North Carolia Natural Science Museum, while the second and third editions will be used for educational purposes in New York, the team said.

First of all, scientists build a 3D model of the Otzi tape.

Thousands of years after their death, the " Otzi " bandage was "revived" with a 3D model of the same size as the real one. Found in the Alps 25 years ago, scientists used state-of-the-art CT scanning technology to sketch ice-shaped looks, then ordered American sculptor Gary Staab to sculpt and color by hand. for months to achieve the highest level of authenticity.

'The scanned images are first converted into a virtual 3D model, then printed and processed post-production with Staab's special skills. Currently the first model has been kept in the Southern Tyro Archaeological Museum (Italy) but will soon be shipped to the US for exhibitions, " Daily Mail said.

Using countless mummy 3D photos along with forensic technology, two Dutch artists - Alfons and Adrie Kennis restored the human model. Restoring the hands is "a real challenge, because they cannot be captured with CT scanning technology , " the South Tyrol Museum representative said. In addition to the hands, the 3D version of Otzi also lacks some body parts because the mummy does not have as many ribs.

They have to build a total of 3 models and then choose the most accurate model to display. The other two models will be included in the Cold Spring Harbor DNA Training Center (New York) for teaching purposes.

Then they took months to sculpt and color by hand for the statue to build the Otzi Tape.

Otzi tape is one of the most notable archaeological findings in the late 20th century, when a Bronze-era mummy was preserved almost intact thanks to frost and dry cold temperatures. Scientists even found Otzi's clothes and tools, including an ax and a carrying bag in the field, along with what's left inside the ice man's stomach. The DNA and 61 tattoos on the Iceman's body are also extremely valuable data that help scientists to understand and speculate about humanity at thousands of years ago.

Otzi is said to be murdered by an arrow, about 45 years old. The ice man is about 1.6 meters tall, weighs 50kg, has brown eyes, is likely to have heart disease at the time of the attack.

After analyzing Otzi's stomach, archaeologists identified the last ice meal as a wild goat and deer. They also envision Otzi as a hunter or warrior, killed when colliding with a rival tribe, based on bows, arrows and copper axes that the iceman carries with him.
