Survive after 47 missing days in the Himalayas
A 21-year-old Taiwanese student was rescued in the Himalayas on April 26, 47 days after he and his girlfriend disappeared.
Mr. Liang Sheng Yueh was discovered and rescued by the search team at a gorge at an altitude of 2,600m, near the Tipling village in Dhading district - Nepal. However, Mr. Liang's companion, Ms. Liu Chen Chun, 19, did not survive. Her body was discovered next to Liang.
Mr. Liang is currently being treated at the Grandee International Hospital in Kathmandu, and is in critical condition. In an interview with the BBC, Dr Sanjaya Karki said: "Mr. Liang could speak but was slow. He told me that Ms. Liu was killed three days ago. The victim did not have any serious injuries but there may be many wounds caused by maggots ".

It is known that Mr. Liang has lost 30kg since missing 7 weeks ago. When found, the victim's hair was full and one leg was attacked by maggots. According to doctors, it seems that the victims survived largely through water and salt.
The BBC reported that this lost couple was seen for the first time by local people at 11:00 on April 26 (local time). Soon after, a helicopter was sent to the scene.
Mr. Liang and Ms. Liu are freshmen at Dong Hwa National University of Taiwan. They arrived in Nepal in February from India and were last seen in the northern district of Dhading on March 9, when they decided to climb the mountain despite heavy snowfall. When they saw that they did not contact the appointment on March 10, the families of two students sought help five days later.
Nepalese police have hired three guides and a helicopter to find students. In addition, the Himalayan tour guides and local newspapers are also informed of the incident. However, heavy snowfall and landslides make the search difficult.
Madhav Basnet, a rescue team member, said it seems the two victims "slipped off a road while heading to Ghatlang village from Dhading district and fell into a cave-like place and could not climb" .
