Take a picture of the meteorite

Amateur astronomer George Hall, from Dallas (USA), used the webcam to record a video of the moment Saturn collided with a meteorite in the universe on September 10 last.

George only discovered his camera recorded this rare phenomenon after he read it online and found another astronomer who saw firsthand a big explosion when the meteorite hit Saturn.

'I never review the video if I can't read the information on the forum. But I checked the recorded images at a time when astronomer Dan Petersen supposedly saw the collision and was lucky enough to find a photograph that recorded this phenomenon , 'George Hall recounted on Daily. Mail.

George Hall used a Point Gray Flea3 camera to take continuous photos of Saturn through the 12inch Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The collision process only lasted 2 seconds and George's camera was lucky to capture this moment.

Currently, astronomers are waiting to observe the collision location to see how Saturn is affected after the explosion. If affected, a streak of black smoke is likely to appear on Saturn's "cloud" and a red dot on the planet's surface.

Saturn has repeatedly collided with meteorites in the universe. The most recent incidents occurred in 2009 and 2010. In 1994, a series of comets called Shoemaker-Levy plunged into the surface of Saturn, causing a large area of influence on the planet.
