Technology made invisibility cloak with invisible beam

Scientists have developed a new technology to make invisibility cloaks like in science fiction films.

Stefan Rotter, a theoretical physicist at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria, and his colleagues developed a new technology for making invisibility cloak, making objects appear to disappear by using "beam" " projected into it, according to Live Science. The results are published in the October 8 issue of Light: Science & Applications.

"Complex materials such as a block of non-transparent road due to the messy structure that causes light to be dispersed within them many times." Light waves can enter and exit the object, but it It does not shine through the medium on a straight line. Instead, light diffuses into different directions, " Rotter said.

In theory, the invisibility cloak works by bending light transmission to it by means of a special layer of material. But with the new approach, Rotter and colleagues do not want to reposition light waves.

"Our goal is to guide the initial light wave through the body, just as it is not there." This may sound strange, but it is entirely feasible with certain materials and wave technology. Our specialty , " said Andre Brandstötter, co-author of the study.

The team's idea is to project a beam, such as a laser beam, into the material from above to pump it full of energy. The properties of the material will change, making it transparent with different wavelengths of light coming from the side.

"The beam will project the material from above like a video projector, but with much higher resolution , " said Konstantinos Makris, a member of the research team at the University of Crete in Greece.
