A technology ring developed in Hong Kong could release people from the phone screen.

Hong Kong-based Origami Labs develops Orii smart ring that can help change the way people use their phones, Reuters reported on Aug. 4.

Orii rings worn on fingers, connected to the phone by bluetooth. Acoustic bone technology allows sound waves to pass through the fingers directly to the ear. Users can listen to the phone with a simple touch.

According to the developers, this is a solution for people to pay more attention to the world around. "In a way, we know we want to change our habits in a different direction, head up to enjoy the moment longer," said Kevin Wong, co-founder of Origami Labs. "I think this device helps us use electronics in a relatively different way."

Orii can operate for one hour of voice, connected to the voice support software on the phone to help users complete calls, send messages and set reminders.

The product was developed to overcome the current limitations of screen reader software for blind users. "This software is very loud, others can hear, can you imagine it reading your password aloud? It's really inconvenient and inappropriate , " said Peter Wong, technical advisor to Origami Labs, share.
