With strange fur or white color, Kermode bear, white elephant, albino squirrel are considered rare animals or symbols of luck.

1. Kermode Bear

Kermode is a North American black bear with distinctive white fur. This bear lives in British Columbia, Canada. If mating takes place between two black bears with the same recessive gene (giving off white fur), then the baby bear will be born with white fur. White bear hunting is taboo in some states. The British Columbia government even imposed penalties for hunting these bears. Experts estimate that there is one Kermode bear in about 40-100 black bears in British Columbia. Currently there are only 200 Kermode bears living in the world.

2. White lion

In African folklore, white (or gold) lions appeared in Timbavatio, South Africa, hundreds of years ago. In myth, the white lion is the son of the Sun god sent to Earth. The first evidence of a Timbavati white lion was recorded in 1938. In 1975, two white lions were taken from the wild environment to the National Park in Pretoria. About 300 white lions in today's captive environment are selectively bred and descendants of these animals. Today, Timbavatio is home to many white lions.

3. White buffalo

The first white buffalo was recorded in the world in 1833. Several decades later, the appearance of white buffalo became more and more popular with 20 white buffalo children born since the 1990s. Buffalo has a white buffalo. White buffalo is not only a rare animal but also considered a sacred animal for Native Americans. For them, the birth of a white buffalo is a sign of hope and signals a stage of future prosperity.

4. White elephant

Elephants are considered special animals in Thailand. White elephants are also considered sacred and blessed. According to legend, if white elephants were found during the king's rule, that dynasty would be more prosperous. Most white elephants are not entirely white or albino but they are only lighter in color than normal elephants.

5. White squirrel

The town of Olney, Illinois, USA, is a famous place for albino squirrels. The researchers did not know when this species began to appear here, but by 1943, the number of white squirrels in Olney had reached about 1,000. Today, there are about 200 white squirrels in Olney. In Olney, white squirrels can walk on the streets and sidewalks. Albino squirrels are also considered by people here as a symbol of the town. Images of white squirrels also appear on the police badge.
