'The chickens' have the highest life expectancy in the world
A hen raised by a Chinese man has lived for 22 years (equivalent to 400 years of human life) and has laid over 5,000 eggs.
Yang Shaofu, 77, a native of Sidazhuang, Yunnan Province, China, is planning to send a letter to the Guinness Book of Records hoping that the life of the chicken will be recognized.
Mr. Yang said, his son's daughter-in-law bought in 1988 along with 4 other chickens. "At that time it weighed only 0.5kg. After two months of raising, he started laying eggs."
"Specifically" chickens have a life expectancy of 400 years of human life
Yang said the chicken is still healthy, but only now its eyes are poor and it is not as healthy as before. Its daily food is ground millet and corn.
Local veterinarians said, a normal hens can live up to 7-8 years, the longest living record is only 12 years. Yet Mr. Yang's hen lived for 22 years and laid over 5,000 eggs.
Mr. Yan said: "Many people told me to do it, but I will not do it. We will raise it until it cannot live anymore."
