The creature of 18 million years does not know what sex is and now science understands why

Is sex thought important? That's right, but there are animals that have gone through 18 million years but not once and for all .

Diploscapter pachys is the name of a nematode species that was present on Earth 18 million years ago. But the number of 18 million is not special in this worm, because many animals have a longer age.

The problem is that in that huge time, D. pachys worms had never been interested in "sex" properly - or in the scientific language, a form of sexual reproduction . In fact, very rare organisms can exist only by asexual reproduction , due to the lack of diversity of DNA. If a population has the same gene, just one disease appears to be enough to wipe out the whole race.

But the D. pachys worm did it, 18 million years. And the reason was found by experts from New York University (USA) in a recent study.

"This is a very important phenomenon to understand the genetic evolution process, because it contrasts sharply with the common perception of reproduction, that reproduction depends on the change of the environment" - quoted Dr. David Fitch from New York University.

Basically, D. pachys are organisms that only reproduce asexually, and they reproduce the next life. It seems that this is a form of "all-hands play" of them, but the tests give different results. While the original worm has only one pair of chromosomes, the next generation worm has five to seven different pairs. And the secret here is how they build their chromosomes.

The chromosome pairs instead of losing over time are recombined by the worm into a single sequence.

As a result, their "all-hands" gamble turns out to be very solid, when creating a truly diverse genetic population, then ensuring that the gene sequence is not disturbed. They remove sexual genes, simply because they don't need it.
