The device helps people see Wifi waves with the naked eye

Wifi waves work differently than you think.

How does the wifi wave you catch daily look like?

Our lives are increasingly dependent on mobile networks and wireless waves. Every connection requires connections like bluetooth or Wifi. Have you ever wondered how wireless connections are "shaped" ?

Obviously, no one can see the shape of Wifi waves with the naked eye. But with the receiving device and the ability to describe graphics, it will become possible. Richard Vijgen, a Dutch developer, said, " We are completely surrounded by invisible waves that transmit signals, from the broadcast points to signal receivers . " Richard recently introduced an application called " The Achitecture of Radio ".

Interface of The Achitecture of Radio.

This application uses a variety of data sources to describe all of the communication networks around where you stand. Satellite signal or Wifi network is an example. It is known that The Achitecture of Radio uses a NASA satellite system called " Jet Propulsion Laboratory " to calculate the position and intensity of wireless waves. It captures the signal from the nearest transmitter position via the OpenCellID map , a map that records the location of the transceiver points.

After obtaining the above signal, the application will display it on a screen with a 3D- style interface that allows users to see the movement of wireless waves as well as the location of the surrounding hot spots. .

This is not a new idea, but specifically to the general user is a big step forward. This unprecedented application does what The Achitecture of Radio does, which is to build real-time images depicting wireless waves. Richard said that the shape is received in the form of a radiation pattern, in which the application calculates the distance between you and the broadcast point, and shows everything on the screen. "It serves more purpose than a radio frequency measurement device."

Anyway, this application helps us see the types of waves that surround us , and visualize their impact on each person's body. The Achitecture of Radio is not yet publicly available, but according to the developer, it will be released later this year. If you can't wait until that day, go to ZKM - the Arts and Media Center in Karlsruhe, Germany , where it is being tested.
