a series of complex equations are needed to describe but Filipino girls explain it in a simpler way and win a $ 250,000 scholarship.

Young Breakthrough Challenge 2017, competition for teenagers around the world. Accordingly, test takers send videos in less than 3 minutes, explaining the theory or concepts of Math or Science in the simplest way.

This year, 18-year-old Filipino Hillary Diane Andales is the winner. With the victory, she was awarded a scholarship worth $ 250,000 (nearly 5.7 billion).

The video that brings this prestigious award is called "Relativity Theory & Equivalence of the Reference Framework".

The clip begins by specifying a number that is equal to 6 or 9. In fact, the way to read this number depends on the way it looks. Based on this point, Andales explains each person's point of view to determine his or her reference frame.

The female student added that the reference frame is the basis of the theory of relativity because each person sees the situation not the same if they stand in different positions.

She proved this by asking 3 friends to record the sound made by the pickup when traveling. They stand in 3 different positions. One person in front of the car, another in the back while the other is standing next to the car.

Each frame of reference provides a different sound because the sound waves generated by the vehicle engine will be higher or lower depending on where they are recorded.

Andales said it was possible to do the same experiment with velocity and time. If the famous athlete Usain Bolt races at a speed of 98% of the speed of light, under Bolt's perspective, he completes the race at the 10th second. But the referee's result is 40 seconds.

The reason is that time seems to drift slower for the observer. This is similar to the reason that the clock on the International Space Station orbits Earth at 17 km / h slower than the clock on Earth about 0.007 seconds every 6 months.
